WASHINGTON (Nov. 12, 2025) — California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, has won the 2025 National Design-Build Student Competition, presented by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA). The team’s innovative response to this year’s airport expansion challenge earned top honors among 33 participating teams from across the nation.

WASHINGTON (Nov. 11, 2025) — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) reported that its Construction Backlog Indicator fell to 8.4 months in October, according to an ABC member survey conducted Oct. 20 to Nov. 4. The reading is down 0.1 months since September but unchanged from October 2024. 

NEW ORLEANS (Nov. 7, 2025) — Monica Manolas, region president, Ash Grove East, is now the first woman in the American Cement Association’s (ACA) history to be elected chair of its board of directors. David Loomes, president of Cement Segment, Quikrete Cement, is the new vice chair. The elections took place yesterday during ACA’s 2025 Fall Meeting being held this week in New Orleans.
