LAS VEGAS (July 11, 2013) – The PENTA Building Group recently hosted its ninth annual PENTA Charity Golf Classic at the Revere Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. Golf participants, subcontractors and vendors who attended the tournament raised a total of $100,000 for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Women’s Development Center. Each organization received $50,000 to support its mission.
“PENTA is pleased to have such a tremendous turnout this year,” said PENTA Chief Operating Officer John Cannito. “Our company is proud to be able to donate the proceeds from our tournament to these two wonderful organizations that make a difference in so many people’s lives.”
The Women’s Development Center and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation both strive to provide support for community members in need. The Women’s Development Center provides a broad range of housing services, including transitional housing for the homeless and foreclosure intervention services for those trying to save their homes. The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation offers free social, emotional, educational and psychological support services for families of all children diagnosed with life threatening or critical illnesses.
Jeff Gordon, president and CEO of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, expressed gratitude for PENTA’s donation.
“We are overwhelmed with the participation from the players and are grateful to PENTA for choosing us,” Gordon said. “The money raised will assist our programs and services for the Las Vegas community.”
