Company will aim for construction offerings in the local market.

KENNER, La. (October 15, 2012) -- Cycle Construction Co., LLC (Cycle), a heavy civil construction, environmental infrastructure, underground utility, demolition and site preparation contractor, today announced its acquisition of Professional Construction Services, Inc. (PCS). Begun in 1973, PCS has developed its industrial-focused construction expertise by serving hundreds of industrial companies, particularly in the petrochemical industry.

“Cycle is thrilled to have industrial expert PCS join our team. Our combined safety record, expertise and results will allow us to expand our existing services and capabilities to a wider base of customers in both the industrial and civil works sectors,” said Cycle President Jonathan Kernion.

Cycle will operate PCS as a business unit under the PCS brand name. The acquisition will build on the resources, capacity and practices of each company, and as such it aims to allow Cycle to serve a broader range of customer needs throughout the Gulf Coast region. Recent Cycle projects include site preparation at the state-of-the-art Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in New Orleans and construction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Florida Avenue Pump Station project in the Lower 9th Ward.

“This acquisition certainly revitalizes PCS and allows us to provide a higher level of customer services. With the assistance of Cycle, we can now truly utilize our specialized employee skills and industrial experience by significantly expanding the scope and size of projects we can perform,” added PCS president Eddie Abate.

Cycle’s customer base has been focused primarily on the public sector, as the company has completed a wide range of projects for federal, state, parish and local organizations. With the combination of PCS’ industrial-based construction knowledge and experienced personnel, along with Cycle’s relationships and experience in the civil construction field, the company hopes to create new opportunities for industrial and civil development.
