C. Yoga Chandran, Ph.D., PE, GE has joined HNTB Corporation in southern California as project director and vice president. Based in HNTB's Santa Ana office, Chandran is supporting the firm's work on some of the most complex infrastructure projects throughout the region. It is with a heavy heart that Western Specialty Contractors announces the passing of former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jim Rechtin Sr. on September 17, 2018, following a battle with cancer. All who knew and worked with Rechtin described him as a dedicated business partner, family man and friend whose leadership qualities and expertise helped to grow Western.
