Feb. 5, 2026 — Komatsu North America has entered into an agreement to acquire assets of SRC of Lexington Inc., a supplier of remanufactured components and parts for construction and mining equipment based in Lexington, Kentucky. The deal is scheduled to close by the end of February, subject to customary closing conditions.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 5, 2026) — Equip Exposition, the international landscape, outdoor living and equipment trade show, announced plans for a two-city rotation beginning in 2029, expanding global access with direct international air traffic and new venue choices for attendees and exhibitors, as well as enhancing outdoor demonstration opportunities in its longtime host city. 

WASHINGTON (Jan. 21, 2026) — National nonresidential construction spending remained virtually unchanged on a monthly basis in October and was down 0.9% year over year, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data published by the U.S. Census Bureau.

On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, nonresidential spending totaled $1.25 trillion.

WASHINGTON (Jan. 26, 2026) — The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has named Richard Branch as its new chief economist.
In this pivotal role, Branch will analyze U.S. economic trends and construction markets, assessing their impact on architectural practice. He will also oversee the production of key indicators and reports to forecast construction activity and provide strategic guidance to AIA members.  

MOLINE, Ill. (Jan. 21, 2026) — John Deere ushered in a new era of earthmoving with the debut of its New Generation P‑Tier Midsize Excavators. Redesigned, developed and tested in‑house, this lineup goes all in to deliver the most advanced John Deere excavators yet. Jan. 14, 2026 — The producer price index for materials and services used in nonresidential construction rose 0.4% in November and 3.6% over 12 months — the largest year-over-year increase since January 2023, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) of government data.

HD Construction Equipment Hyundai North America recently promoted Michael Ross to the role of chief operating officer (COO).

BOSTON (Dec. 22, 2025) — Total construction starts were down 20.5% in November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.22 trillion, according to Dodge Construction Network. Nonresidential building starts fell by 13.4%, residential starts increased 13.3% and nonbuilding starts dropped 43.7% over the month. On a year-to-date basis through November, total construction starts were up 5.1% from last year. 

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. (Jan. 6, 2026) — JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation business and global manufacturer of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, announced the acquisition of the core technology developed by Canvas, a San Francisco-based construction robotics technology company known for pioneering robotic solutions for interior construction applications.

MOLINE, Ill. (Dec. 22, 2025) — Deere & Company entered into an agreement to acquire Tenna, a construction technology company, and a holding of The Conti Group, that offers mixed-fleet equipment operations and asset tracking solutions.

MONTREAL (Dec. 16, 2025) — CM Labs Simulations, a provider of simulation-based training for heavy equipment operations, announced that it has acquired GlobalSim, a Utah-based developer of advanced training simulators. GlobalSim is focused on developing training systems for the port, construction, industrial and military markets.

WASHINGTON (Dec. 16, 2025) — The construction industry added 28,000 jobs on net in November, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has expanded by 58,000 jobs, an increase of 0.7%.
