MONTREAL (Dec. 16, 2025) — CM Labs Simulations, a provider of simulation-based training for heavy equipment operations, announced that it has acquired GlobalSim, a Utah-based developer of advanced training simulators. GlobalSim is focused on developing training systems for the port, construction, industrial and military markets.

WASHINGTON (Dec. 16, 2025) — The construction industry added 28,000 jobs on net in November, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has expanded by 58,000 jobs, an increase of 0.7%.

BOSTON (Dec. 5, 2025) — The Dodge Momentum Index (DMI), issued by Dodge Construction Network, decreased 1.1% in November to 276.8 from the downwardly revised October reading of 280.0. Over the month, commercial planning ticked down 0.1% and institutional planning declined by 3.4%. Year-to-date, the DMI is up 36% from the average reading over the same period in 2024.  

RALEIGH, N.C. WASHINGTON (Nov. 25, 2025) — Construction input prices increased 0.2% in September compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices also increased 0.2% for the month.

WASHINGTON (Nov. 19, 2025) — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced that Thomas “Murph” Murphy, vice president of Power & Construction Group, Scottsville, New York, was elected 2026 chair of the ABC National Board of Directors during its meeting at the association’s annual Leadership Institute in Marco Island, Florida.

BOSTON (Nov. 7, 2025) — The Dodge Momentum Index (DMI), issued by Dodge Construction Network, decreased 7.1% in October to 283.3 from the upwardly revised reading of 304.8. Over the month, commercial planning declined 2.9% and institutional planning slowed by 15.2%. Year-to-date, the DMI is up 35% from the average reading over the same period in 2024.  

WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. (Nov. 13, 2025) — Curtis Industries LLC, a manufacturer of cab enclosures, attachments and accessories for compact vehicles, has announced the release of two major innovations for Kubota full-size diesel utility vehicles: half-door kits and air conditioning systems. Though each product is designed for distinct operating needs, both are engineered to enhance comfort and safety.

WASHINGTON (Nov. 11, 2025) — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) reported that its Construction Backlog Indicator fell to 8.4 months in October, according to an ABC member survey conducted Oct. 20 to Nov. 4. The reading is down 0.1 months since September but unchanged from October 2024. 

NEW ORLEANS (Nov. 7, 2025) — Monica Manolas, region president, Ash Grove East, is now the first woman in the American Cement Association’s (ACA) history to be elected chair of its board of directors. David Loomes, president of Cement Segment, Quikrete Cement, is the new vice chair. The elections took place yesterday during ACA’s 2025 Fall Meeting being held this week in New Orleans.
