Seattle, Wash. (Feb. 28, 2012) -  Dexter + Chaney, makers of Spectrum® Construction Software and the recently launched Venture™ Project Collaboration Software, has  announced that Venture has been named the Experts’ Choice winner in the Business Tools and Software category of the 2012 Most Innovative Products (MIP) Award program at World of Concrete 2012.

The MIP Award program – held annually at the World of Concrete tradeshow – is a roundup of the most innovative construction products and technologies that help increase productivity, enhance quality, and promote safety for jobsites and employees in the construction arena.  The Experts’ Choice award is given to the product earning the highest ranking from a panel of construction industry experts.  Nominated products were evaluated by these experts during the course of the trade show in Las Vegas from Jan. 24 – 27, 2012. Many of the experts involved in the MIP review and selection process serve on the World of Concrete Advisory Board.

Venture, a new web-based project collaboration software product targeting the needs of construction operations professionals, is the first release from Dexter + Chaney’s recently formed Operations Group.  “This recent accolade signifies the benefit our operations software brings to the construction market,” said Mark Reich, senior vice president, Operations Group.

The product addresses the needs of construction operations professionals, uniting the management of project documentation, people, and communications on one easy-to-use platform.  Project teams no longer have to rely on outmoded FTP sites or collaboration applications that do not offer true versioning control.

Venture facilitates the sharing of documents and information throughout the entire project lifecycle, helping operations professionals assemble bid teams, share and manage documents, control versioning, automatically send alerts, create project logs, take control of issue management, and much more.  “Contractors no longer have to use multiple applications to manage all the information and people associated with a project,” said Reich. “Instead, Venture is a single product serving a contractor’s myriad requirements throughout all the phases of a project.”

Additionally, because Venture is a web-based application, contractors save money by reducing the number of software applications they need to run and is “free-to-play” for all project team members, said John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney co-founder and president. “This gives Venture users a competitive edge, allowing them to build stronger teams and ultimately win more work.”
