Registration Open for IRMI Energy Risk & Insurance Conference

DALLAS (Dec. 8, 2014)—International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI) is now accepting registrations for the IRMI Energy Risk & Insurance Conference on March 16–18, 2015, in Houston, Texas.

This conference brings together insurance buyers, risk managers, agents, brokers, underwriters, adjusters, attorneys, and others who must understand, mitigate, or insure the complex exposures of oil and gas exploration, production and servicing.

The conference agenda includes workshops presented by nationally known risk management, insurance brokerage, underwriting, or legal experts who have spent years working in this specialized field. They will focus on practical strategies and tactics. Attendees will take these back to their organizations and clients to ensure they have implemented best practice risk management tactics for and are properly insured against related upstream oil and gas industry risks. Workshop topics will include:

• Refinery Operations Made Simple
• Build Your House on a Solid Foundation: Basic Contract Drafting for the Oil Field
• Up in Smoke: Managing the Risk of Wage and Hour Claims in the Oil Patch
• Energy Company Alert—Are You Buying Enough Insurance?
• A Cloud of Doubt—Emerging Air Issues in the Oil Patch
• The Big One—Managing and Resolving the Mega Claim
• Dissecting an OEE/COW Claim
• Commercial General and Umbrella Liability Insurance
• Latest Trends in Oil and Gas Claims
• Understanding Maritime Exposures and Insurance

“Oil and gas is a risky business,” said Jack P. Gibson, IRMI president and CEO, “with specialized and very complex insurance needs. The Energy Risk & Insurance Conference provides a forum for thought leaders to come together to exchange best practice ideas and network with each other.”
