Glastonbury, Connecticut (Feb. 12, 2019)—S/L/A/M Construction Services (SLAM CS) has announced that Eugene “Gene” Torone, DBIA, has recently been appointed chair of Connecticut Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Board of Directors. He will serve a one-year term.

Gene has been a member of the Connecticut chapter since 2012 and has previously served as vice chair of the board. He has served on various committees, including membership and executive. He has represented the organization at national conferences and events and served as a Connecticut delegate in Washington, D.C., promoting core ABC initiatives.

Founded in 1950, the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association representing more than 21,000 members and 69 chapters. Its mission is the advancement of the merit shop construction philosophy, which encourages open competition and a free enterprise approach that awards contracts based solely on merit, regardless of labor affiliation. Gene has been with S/L/A/M CS for more than 22 years, serving as president for the past 8 years.
