Visitor numbers in build sector show remain strong despite economic crisis

(May 27,2015) - MosBuild, Russia’s largest trade exhibition for the building and interiors industry, celebrated its 21st anniversary edition last month, at Moscow‘s Expocentre Fairgrounds.

The event, split into a two-week format, MosBuild Design & Décor (March 31– April 3) and MosBuild Building & Architecture (April 14 – 17) covered the entire spectrum of building and interiors products and welcomed a total of 1,517 exhibitors from 41 countries.

Due to the current economic climate in Russia, expectations for the show were not as high as previous years, but total attendance figures of 86,141 industry professionals seemed to dispel most concerns.

The show's 21st edition re-confirmed not only its relevance in the market, but also its status as an international event by welcoming 14 national groups from Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, China, Korea, Malaysia, Portugal, Slovakia, Taiwan, Finland and the Czech Republic. The event also attracted an array of internationally respected brands from many different industries, such as SINA Tile, SACMI, Equipceramica, Duravit, Vitra, OLI, IDEA, Laufen, Villeroy and Boch, Clever, Nofer, Anza, Armourcoat, Beorol, Colorifico San Marco, Polisan, ALI, EGGER, IDEAL, Panaget, A.S. Creation, Erismann, Hewlett Packard, Emeliana Parati, Verbeek Designs, Alubond and Assa Abloy.

There was also an increase in first time exhibitors from outside of Europe.

The 4th International MosBuild Architecture and Design Awards (MADA) were also among the business program’s highlights. The awards recognized two categories, "Best architectural solution for creating an accessible environment" and "Best sustainable architecture project." Winners were announced in both the architect and student categories and judged by an international panel of experts.
