Pflugerville, Texas (Oct.8, 2019)—Rosendin, a San Jose, California-based company, celebrated a century of achievement with a party featuring the area’s biggest developers and builders. Rosendin Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Tom Sorley and Director of Texas Operations John Colley hosted 185 people at the company’s new regional office in Pflugerville, Texas.

The event acknowledged 100 years of shared success of Rosendin employees and partners, including projects such as the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport terminal expansion, the UT Welch Hall renovation and several large-scale data center complexes.

The Pflugerville location is one of 15 regional offices, employing 7,000 employees. “Pflugerville was a natural fit for Rosendin; not only is it a great location in proximity to Austin, with ease of access to major highways and two airports, but it also supports our goal of attracting the best and brightest,” said Rosendin Director of Texas Operations John Colley.

“For 100 years, Rosendin has created a reputation for building quality electrical installations, building value for our clients and building people within the company,” said Sorley. "Our shared goals have led to our shared success since 1919.” Rosendin is celebrating its centennial throughout the year with a variety of events and campaigns.

The Texas office also celebrated three recent awards, including the 2019 Safety Excellence Award from National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Austin Chapter, for Rosendin’s dedication to employee safety. NAWIC Austin Chapter also recognized Rosendin Business Development Manager Jolsna Thomas, with the Women in Construction of the Year 2019 Award for helping launch Austin’s first girls’ construction camp. Rosendin sponsored the free camp for middle school girls in partnership with the Austin Independent School District and Austin Construction Industry.

The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association also acknowledged Thomas’ efforts for encouraging women in the industry by awarding her with the 2019 Luna Award for Business Advocate of the Year in Austin.

“I am honored and humbled to be recognized for my contributions to help women of all ages understand that they can be equally successful as any man in the construction industry,” said Thomas.

“Rosendin is proud of all the work Thomas has done in business development and recruiting,” said JColley. “Women still only make up about 10% of the industry workforce, but there is a huge labor shortage which opens up enormous opportunities with good salaries for anyone who is willing to learn.”
