Sauk Centre, Minnesota (Sept. 26, 2019)—Have you ever wondered what happens inside manufacturing plants? During the month of October, you can see for yourself during the ‘Dream It. Do It.’ Minnesota Statewide Tour of Manufacturing. During the statewide event, businesses open their doors for tours during Minnesota Manufacturing Week.

Felling Trailers Inc.'s Sauk Centre, Minnesota, location will be open Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and invites the public, including families, job seekers, schools and community groups, to learn firsthand how people make the things we use every day. Felling does ask that, for safety, all tour attendees wear closed-toe shoes. Safety glasses and hearing protection will be provided.

Minnesota manufacturers make anything from trailers, snowmobiles, construction equipment, airplane parts, military technology, life-saving medical devices, to baseball bats and wooden toys, just to name a few. As Felling Trailers celebrates 45 years in business, the public can see how this family-owned and operated full-line trailer manufacturer has grown from a small shop in 1974 to a factory and office complex that today covers over 325,000 square feet.

As you tour their facility, you can witness the teamwork needed to take a trailer from engineering design to the shop floor, to finish. From the welding jig to the fabrication center, get a glimpse of how Felling's engineers utilize the latest design techniques and how their craftspeople use technology to turn customers' conceptual trailer needs into a tangible product.

Manufacturing is the backbone of Minnesota’s economy. According to the Department of Employment and Economic Development, the industry impacts over 30% of Minnesota jobs."We're excited to open our doors so youth, families and job seekers can see how we use science, technology, engineering and math every day in our work," said Brenda Jennissen, chief executive officer of Felling Trailers Inc.

This tour is supported by Central Minnesota Manufacturer’s Association (CMMA)and is part of the ‘Dream It. Do It.’ Minnesota Statewide Tour of Manufacturing, led by the 360 Manufacturing Center of Excellence and Applied Engineering, who are all platinum sponsors for this event.
