WASHINGTON (March 26, 2021) — President Biden’s advisors are said to be working on a $3 trillion economic package that will have a major infrastructure component. More details are expected on March 31, when the president will travel to Pittsburgh to announce more details on the upcoming push. Gina McCarthy recently discussed the infrastructure plans, which will include efforts to combat climate change and work toward a greener economy. More than $1 trillion is expected to be spend on construction of roads, bridges, rail lines, electric vehicle infrastructure and improvements to the nation’s power grids. All of which could be a boon to the construction industry, which could use the boost as studies indicate the need for a hiring spree to combat the labor tightness that continues to impact the trades.
