CBO Magazine & Digital Media Announces Return of Sustainability VIP Honor for 2022

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Jan. 3, 2022) — Construction Business Owner (CBO), the leading business magazine for contractors, is pleased to announce the return of its Sustainability VIP honor, a special initiative designed to recognize the construction professionals building a better future for the earth and its inhabitants.

“We’re consistently seeing an increased focus on sustainability throughout the industry,” said Kathy Wells, editor of Construction Business Owner Magazine & Digital Media. “Some sustainability practices and green building techniques have been thriving in construction for many years, and continue to be a strong pillar of today’s construction environment, but as more opportunities develop and more major players step in to support the cause, we’re really seeing this as an area of growth,” said Wells.

CBO developed the Sustainability VIP honor in 2021 as a format to help identify and highlight the industry’s foremost leaders of sustainable practices and programs. CBO’s Sustainability VIP honor is powered by nominations from professionals throughout the industry that will showcase the expertise of eligible nominees, which include all construction industry professionals — general contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers, suppliers, etc.

• Clean energy, water and sanitation
• Recycling and responsible consumption and production
• Protection of climate, wildlife and waterways
• Sustainable cities and communities
• Green building and LEED efforts
• Humanitarian efforts (poverty, hunger, equality, health, wellness, education, employment)
