  • Equipment Lease Finance Industry Confidence Increases in January

    Washington, DC, (January 23, 2013) –  The Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation (the Foundation) releases the January 2013 Monthly Confidence Index for the Equipment Finance Industry (MCI-EFI). Designed to collect leadership data, the index reports a qualitative assessment of both the prevailing business conditions and expectations for the future as reported by key executives from the $725 billion equipment finance sector.   • ConsensusDocs Releases a New Agreement for Design Professionals Amid 15 Percent Increase in Use in 2012

    WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 22, 2013) – ConsensusDocs is releasin its first standard agreement for a lead architect or engineer to subcontract certain design work to other design professionals and consultants. The agreement makes it easier for architects, engineers to contract with other consultants providing a portion of design services work.   • Sumitomo to Make Additional Investment in Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC

    (January 15, 2013) – Sumitomo Corporation (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kuniharu Nakamura; hereinafter, “Sumitomo”), through its 100 percent subsidiary, SMS International Corporation, has acquired controlling interest of Sunstate Equipment Co., LLC (Head office: Phoenix, Arizona; Chairman;Michael Watts; hereinafter, “Sunstate”) by increasing its ownership of Common Membership Interest to 80 percent.  Sunstate is one of the major equipment rental companies in the United States, with branch locations in nine states primarily in the southwestern US.  Sumitomo made the original investment in Sunstate’s Convertible Preferred Interest in 2009 at the time when the US construction equipment rental industry was undergoing a severe downturn that started after the financial crisis, because Sumitomo was convinced that industry was poised for a the long-term growth.   • CFMA Raises $10,000 to Donate to the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund

    Princeton, NJ (January 08, 2013) – The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), a national non-profit professional association headquartered in Princeton, NJ, is pleased to announce that it raised $10,000 to donate to the Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund. After Hurricane Sandy devastated the North East coast, CFMA created a fund of its own and began collecting money to donate to those affected by the disaster. CFMA also reached out to its 89 chapters across the U.S. and Canada to help with donations.
