  • The Rental Show Recognized as One of Fastest-Growing Trade Shows

    MOLINE, IL (May 28, 2013) – Trade Show Executive magazine announced its list of the fastest-growing trade shows in the U.S., with The Rental Show among those recognized. The Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 ranks the top 50 trade shows in three separate categories – growth in total attendance, number of exhibiting companies and net square feet of exhibit space. The Rental Show was on all three lists, one of 16 shows to appear on each. The Fastest 50 rankings were for 2012, when The Rental Show was in New Orleans from Feb. 5-8.   • Follow Construction of the New Methodist Richardson Medical Center with EarthCam

    (May, 30, 2013) – Methodist Health System is hosting a topping out ceremony to commemorate the halfway point of construction for its new Methodist Richardson Medical Center on the Bush/Renner campus is Richardson, TX. General Contractor, Rogers-O’Brien Construction, selected EarthCam’s MegapixelCam construction camera to document progress for this important project. The new $120 million facility will allow the Methodist Richardson Medical Center to better serve Richardson and the surrounding communities. The 266,250-square-foot hospital will feature a women’s pavilion, level III neonatal intensive care unit, labor, delivery and recovery services, an advanced neuroscience program, advanced cardiac care and more.   • ASA Hails Proposed Legislation Targeting Construction ‘Bid Shopping’

    ALEXANDRIA, Va. (May 22, 2013) — ASA hailed legislation introduced by Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., on May 9, 2013, as a significant step to improve the management of the federal government’s construction projects. By requiring contractors to use the subcontractors identified in the contractors’ bids, the Construction Quality Assurance Act of 2013 (H.R. 1942) would promote open competition among subcontractors and ethical bidding practices and ensure that the highest quality subcontractors bid and work on projects paid for with federal taxpayer dollars. “As the federal government continues to tighten its belt, taxpayers deserve to get absolutely the best construction projects for their tax dollars,” said ASA Chief Advocacy Officer E.
