President Biden’s Goal of 500,000 EV Chargers Across the Country Moves Closer to Reality

DETROIT, MI — At the North American International Auto Show, President Biden announced that the Federal Highway Administration has approved more than two-thirds of Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Deployment Plans from States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico ahead of schedule. The approvals unlock $900 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s $7.5 billion in EV charging investments, which includes the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program to build chargers along approximately 53,000 miles of highway. The President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help build a convenient, reliable, and affordable EV charging network nationwide and ensure the U.S. wins the clean energy future.
