WASHINGTON (July 13, 2023) — Construction input prices remained unchanged in June compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index data released today. Nonresidential construction input prices were also unchanged for the month.

 

HAMILTON, N.J. (June 20, 2023) — Total construction starts rose 8% in May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.11 trillion, according to Dodge Construction Network. Nonresidential starts rebounded following the decline in April, improving 8% thanks to a sizable gain in manufacturing starts. During the month, nonbuilding starts improved by 24%, while residential lost 4%.

WASHINGTON (June 13, 2023) — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) reported that its Construction Backlog Indicator remained unchanged at 8.9 months in May, according to an ABC member survey conducted May 20 to June 7. The reading is 0.1 months lower than in May 2022.

WASHINGTON (May 5, 2023) — The construction industry added 15,000 jobs on net in April, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment expanded by 205,000 jobs, an increase of 2.7%.

 

ANAHEIM, Calif —  Hino Trucks has signed a distribution agreement with Hexagon Purus to exclusively distribute a complete battery electric tractor. This tractor will utilize Hexagon Purus’ proprietary zero-emission technology, including battery systems, auxiliary modules, power modules and the vehicle-level software and is developed to operate on Hino’s XL 4x2 tractor cab chassis.
