OKLAHOMA CITY – Terex has announced a restructuring of its Fort Wayne manufacturing facility to adjust to current market conditions and refine its front discharge mixer truck line to meet customer needs well into the future. “After the boom of the mid-2000s, the mixer truck market has experienced a deep, unprecedented multi-year recession in which ready mix concrete producers are keeping trucks in their fleet for longer periods of time,” says David Rinas, site director for Terex Roadbuilding, Fort Wayne. “As a result, parts sales and field service demand has been on the rise, so we are adjusting our business to better support our customers now and after the economy rebounds.”

Terex is taking advantage of the economic downturn to streamline and update its manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne. “Consistent with other Terex manufacturing facilities, we will be implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to improve workflow and update all processes to more effectively meet the future needs and expectations of our customers,” adds Rinas.

In preparation for the 2012 production season, Terex® mixer truck district sales managers will be working more closely with other Terex Roadbuilding facilities in Oklahoma City and Canton, S.D. In addition to mixer and glider truck sales and support, they will add sales responsibilities for the full Terex Roadbuilding product lines, including concrete batch plants, slipform, bridge, canal and airport pavers as well as the division’s extensive asphalt production, paving and rehabilitation equipment.
