NATIONAL – Volvo Construction Equipment moves into a new dimension to assist customers in supplying spare parts, and as part of its commitment to the research and development of new products. As the construction industry looks to new methods for efficient production, equipment manufacturers are likewise exploring additional ways to boost productivity. Volvo CE has introduced 3-D printing in order to deliver spare parts to customers more quickly and efficiently.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Sept. 28, 2016) - For the past 2 years, a conglomerate of trade associations, industry, government and academia have been collaborating on the world’s first operational 3-D printed excavator. That project made a giant leap forward with the recent printing of a prototype that leveraged large-scale additive manufacturing technologies and further explores the feasibility of printing with metal alloys.

Trade show will feature the first use of 3-D printed steel in an excavator designed by engineering students

NATIONAL (April 24, 2016) - CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2017 are teaming up to unveil the world’s first fully-functional 3-D printed construction excavator and the first large-scale use of steel in 3-D printing, known as additive manufacturing.
