Expansion includes 65,000-square-feet manufacturing, R&D labs & office space

REDWOOD CITY, California (May 5, 2016) – Pentair recently completed a 65,000-square-foot expansion at its Redwood City operations in California’s Silicon Valley. The increased footprint allows for expanded manufacturing capabilities, a new technology center with state-of-the-art research and development labs and a modern learning center featuring a smart customer experience to provide training opportunities for industry professionals. The site manufactures the company’s Raychem brand heat tracing cable for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

“Our Raychem brand is well known for quality, ease-of-use and reliability,” said Alok Maskara, president of Pentair Technical Solutions. “This expansion supports our new product innovations and continued commitment to make significant improvements in products, services, and facilities to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future.”

Pentair’s Raychem brand products have a strong history in Silicon Valley, dating back more than 50 years. Paul Cook, an MIT graduate, founded Raychem Corporation in 1957 as a pioneer in polymer science. Although the Raychem brand has been part of Raychem Corporation, Tyco International and now Pentair, the commitment to develop and manufacture quality Raychem products in Silicon Valley has remained steadfast. Pentair’s Raychem brand is a leading manufacturer of heat-tracing products in the world, having manufactured more than 1.75 billion feet of heat tracing cable worldwide.
