breach of contract

i have been subcontracting for the same company for over 4 years. I recently signed a contract for labor to pour concrete for a gas station in TN. The superintendent on site had an unreasonable schedule yet i began the work and did work which should have taken 3 days in two. Subsequently we were hit by thunderstorms all week to which i have proof, and superintendent demanded i worked in the thunderstorm with no covering. In a period of 2 hours in which the company could not get a hold of me to demand that i go and work in the rain i was fired from the job and replaced with another subcontractor i believe that this was a breach of contract and should be entitled to recover damages is this true? - concrete contractor

Contractor has to many jobs to finish the ones he started

In this small town there are plenty of rumors regarding the same contractor which we have also used not finishing the jobs he started. When confronted he claims your on the list and work is backed up. He has been paid in full for the jobs but never completes the jobs is my understanding. I cant afford to pay someone else to come in and finish up what he doesn't have time to do. None of us have written contracts and are wondering how we can get him to finish up the job he has been paid to do. - Annon

Sub-contactor blows job out of the water.

My sub ended up putting workers on site w/o work comp insurance in place. The customer discovered this and fired us off a pool construction job. Did we breach this contract? Does customer have right to damages? - Andrew Woodward

HELP.. my contractor is a nigtmare

We hired a contractor to "pop" the top of the house. He promised BEFORE the job started that he would tarp the complete floor when the roof was removed.. so if it did rain, nothing down stairs would get wet..HE NEVER DID and the rain went all the way to the basement. The contract is in "stages" and after a stage is completed, he gets a payment... well, now he is jumping ahead and doing some things on the next stage when the prior stages are not completed and demanding money. The contractor is refusing to return to the job until he get paid for the next stage...which is prior STAGES HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLETED. Also during the contruction, items have been stolen from the property (a swamp cooler that the CONTRACTOR removed from a window and placed OUTSIDE behind a bush), basement is still wet with water, BRAND NEW FURNACE still in a puddle of water and a week ago.. the contractor removed a lock on the door and left the house unsecured without notification. The contractor removed his padlock on the door and has refused to return to the job until he get another payment.
Is this considered breech of contract and that the contractor walked away from the job...since he removed his padlock from the jobsite and is refusing to complete prior stages to receive payment???? Also, is he responable for paying for damages done by the rain since he did not tarp the floor when the COMPLETE roof was off???? - kim
